TEAM WEST ROSTER ANNOUNCED FOR 2008 CJHL PROSPECTS GAME

November 24th, 2008 - The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced today the roster for Team West at the 2008 CJHL Prospects Game. The city of Summerside, PEI will host the 2008 CJHL Prospects Game, a showcase that will see the best Junior A hockey players in Canada face off at Credit Union Place on December 16th & 17th.
The player selection is a combined effort of the CJHL and NHL Central Scouting. Each team will consist of two goaltenders, six defensemen and twelve forwards. The 2008 roster is composed of 5 players from the AJHL and BCHL, 4 players from the MJHL, and 3 players from the SIJHL and SJHL.
The Team West roster of 20 prospects includes 6 players who recently competed at the 2008 World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, Alberta. Nine of the prospects on Team West were listed as "Players to Watch" by NHL Central Scouting in October 2008.

The game will feature players from the CJHL's five Western leagues, the British Columbia Hockey League, the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, the Manitoba Hockey League and the Superior International Hockey League compete against the best players from the CJHL'S five Eastern leagues, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League, the Central Junior A Hockey League, the Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Quebec and the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.
Team East and Team West will playoff for the President's Cup, which is awarded to the winning team at the CJHL Prospects Game.

2006 - Team West defeated Team East 6-2 in Vernon, British Columbia
2005 - Team West defeated Team East 5-4 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan
